Tribute Poems

November is Native American Heritage month.

Below is a poem I wrote Honoring the Native American Tribes.

I honored them last November 10th and it rained with lightning and thunder all day November 11th. The weather man thought it was strange there was lightning in the middle of November in Minnesota. This Pow Wow was on sacred land in Cottage Grove MN. We have to unite our nation with beliefs of the Native Americans.

Next year please honor Native Americans on these days:

Native Americans’ Day 2017
Friday, September 22, 2017 (local in California)
Monday, October 9, 2017 (local in South Dakota)
Monday, October 9, 2017 (local in Alaska)
Monday, October 9, 2017 (local in California, Minnesota, Washington)

We have to make a stand on November 10th
for the Native Americans.
They have sacred land
which is to honored
as the cemeteries of the White Man.
On November 10th last year,
I did a Pow Wow honoring the ancestors;
these Pioneers.
Yes, they were the Pioneers of North America
We can not forget
there homes where taken
with no regret-
By the side that
had all their pride.
They ravaged their lives
it’s time now to turn the tide.
Now we must pay homage
and honor them this day-
with a ceremony which you
offer a gift and send a pray their way.
The reservations are now filled with drugs
We need to see how this affects all of us.
WE need to Respect their Land
Their People
are honored in September 22, October 9,
and all of the days in November
these are the days and month
to Remember.
